The Lone Wolf Players will be
presenting the world premiere of a new play. Adapted from the book by
Peig Mayo, "The Seven Nights of the Wake of Blind Raftery" will make
it's world premiere on the Long Lake Theater stage.
Don't miss this wonderfully funny and entertaining show. Performed
through the great traditional wordplay of Irish storytelling, this is the
story of four people who are mysteriously "called" together to
retell the story of the wake of a mysterious, blind old fiddler....seven years
after his death! The stories tell the tale of this mysterious old man,
his magical ways, his unearthly alliance with fairies, while at the same time,
delivering a special message to those who relive it...and to all of us.

My
wife, Lucy, and I offer proof that opposites attract. Every night at 9
p.m. I am asleep and every night at 9 p.m., she is looking for something
exciting to do. So when she suggested dinner and a play last Saturday
night, I faced the embarrassing possibility of snoring in public.
After
a delicious dinner at the Hilltop Inn, we entered the Long Lake Theater
in Hubbard at 8 p.m. The theater is tastefully decorated with
comfortable seats. The seats had me worried, wondering when the lights
went out at scene changes if I would go out with them.
The
play, The Cemetery Club, was entertaining and well presented. The actors
were believable, endearing (even though one of them looked like my
mother-in-law) and talented.
But
perhaps the best compliment I can give the Long Lake Theater actors,
staff and directors is at 10:30 p.m., I was awake and happy! Thanks for
a lovely evening.

A Walk in the woods

by Lee Blessing
Directed by Mark L. Colbenson
In a pleasant woods on the outskirts of Geneva, two superpower arms negotiators, a veteran, aging Russian and new, eager American conduct informal meetings as talks drag on and seasons change. Filled with gentle humor and contemporary messages, Blessing's play shows us the humans and the humanity behind the headlines of peace and war.
"...a
work of passion and power with the ring of political truth. It
is not only the best of the few dramas to reach Broadway this season, it
is also the funniest comedy!"-

STONES IN
HIS POCKETS by Marie Jones
Who has the right to tell your story? What identifies you and who
defines that identity? These and other questions are addressed in
the Irish Comedy about the filming of the remake to "The Quiet
Man" in the west of Ireland. Two actors portray 15 characters in this
fast paced look into the making of a Hollywood movie in a sleepy
Irish village. This actor's showcase features Coralee Grebe
and Suzie Stier-Waletzki playing both men and women in the Olivier
award-winning play. IAT is proud to be the first company to
feature women in these roles. The
universal themes of standing up for what you believe in, telling
your story your own way and fulfilling all the possibility that
exists within you are all part of this funny, touching and
triumphant play.
